XII CRACOVIA MARATHON

 

I. PATRONAGE AND ORGANIZERS


1. The event is held under the patronage of the Mayor of Krakow.
2. The Municipality of Krakow, Sports Infrastructure Management Board of Krakow is the Organizer of the XII Cracovia Marathon

II. TIME AND PLACE

1. The XII Cracovia Marathon will take place on 28 April 2013
2. The race begins on Aleja 3 Maja in Błonia Park, Krakow, at 9:30 AM
3. The finishing line is the parking space in front of the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium facing Aleja 3 Maja.
4. The Marathon course length is 42.195 km. The marathon course meets the AIMS and PAA standards
5. The Participants start the race in the following order:
a. athletes in wheelchairs
b. athletes with numbers from 1 to 50, followed by the rest of the Participants according to the corrals, as declared in the registration form.
6. The entire course (each kilometer) will be appropriately marked.
7. The water/food points will be located 5 kilometers apart. The first table will be set with cups of plain water, the second with isotonic drinks and the third with fruit. The tables will be 10 meters apart.
Note: The Organizer will not store or offer to Participants' their own diet supplements.
8. The water/food points will be located 5 kilometers apart (the first one: 7.5 kilometers) and will have bowls with fresh water.
9. The medical assistance points with paramedics will be located 100 meters from each water/food point. The portable toilets will be located next to the medical assistance points.

III. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

1. Only persons above the age 18 (as of 28 April 2013) are eligible to participate in the XII Cracovia Marathon.
2. To enter the XII Cracovia Marathon the Participants must apply for participation before 8 PM, 27 April 2013.
3. During the registration process all Participants must submit a declaration stating that they are fully aware of the risks and dangers arising from the participation in the XII Cracovia Marathon and that their health condition allows them to take part in the race. In case of any uncertainty as to the health condition of the Participant he shall seek the opinion of a physician at his own expense.
4. For the purposes of time measurement and creating time lists during the XII Cracovia Marathon an electronic timing system will be used. During the verification process, each Participant will receive a chip attached to his starting number; its proper placement is necessary in order to participate in the marathon and be listed in the standings at the end of the Event.
5. Only Participants who complete the official course of the marathon within the time limit of 6 hours shall be listed in the standings. The Participants using shortcuts will be disqualified. The Participants who fail to complete the race before 3:30 PM must end the race and may go to the finish line by a bus with the words "End of Marathon" (Polish: Koniec Maratonu).
The Organizer is not responsible for persons who continue the race after the set time limit, failing to comply with the traffic regulations and Civil Code.
6. During the race the Participants shall comply with the instructions of the persons acting on behalf of the Organizer, those in charge of safety and police authorities.
7. The use of vehicles, except for wheelchairs used by the disabled and Organizer's motorized vehicles is strictly forbidden.
8. Changing rooms and a clothes deposit will be located in the area of the finish line and shall collect Participants' personal belongings put in bags (supplied by the Organizer during the verification process). Changing rooms and a clothes deposit shall be open on 28 April between, between 7 AM and 4 PM. Personal belongings put in bags shall be returned to the Participants upon presenting a starting number. The Organizer is not responsible for lost starting numbers and bags collected by other persons.
9. The Participants agree for their personal data to be processed for the internal purposes of the Organizer; the Participants allow for their image to be used in information and promotional materials.
10. The Participants are not allowed to participate in the race while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
11. The Organizer does not provide any insurance against accidents.
12. The Participants passing their starting numbers to another person will be disqualified.
13. The Participants disqualified from other racing events are not allowed to enter the Cracovia Marathon before the disqualification period ends.

IV. REGISTRATION AND ENTRY FEE

1. The registration process for the XII Cracovia Marathon may be completed in the following way:
a. on the official website of the Cracovia Marathon, before 12:00 PM, Wednesday, 24 April 2013
b. in the Race Office on 26-27 April 2013
2. The Participants' verification process, collecting race kits with start numbers and additional registration shall be done at the Race Office.
The Participants shall personally collect their respective starting kits. The starting kits shall be issued upon presenting a valid ID or passport, as well as a proof of entry fee payment (in the case of unverified participants)

Collecting the starting kit on behalf of another person is only possible upon presenting a signed authorization including the name, surname and ID numbers of the persons authorized and giving authorization, as well as a copy of the authorizing person's ID.

3. The Race Office will be located at the lobby below the west stand of the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium (Wisła Kraków Stadium).

Opening hours:
04.26.2013 between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM
04.27.2013 between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM
04.28.2013 between 6:00 AM and 7:30 AM

4. The registration shall be valid upon providing a completed registration form, signing a declaration and paying the entry fee (except for the individuals exempt from the payment). The Organizer is not responsible for lost registration forms.

5. The entry fee is:
PLN 50 - before 10.31.2012
PLN 80 before 03.31.2013
PLN 120- between 04.01.2013 and 04.24.2013
PLN 150- between 04.26.2013 and 04.27.2013
50% of the fee for persons aged 65 and more
50% of the fee for the holders of the Crown of Polish Marathons award
20% of the fee for the Krakow Family Card holders - a valid card along with an ID shall be presented during the verification process in the Race Office
6. On the day of the race, the starting kits might be collected at the Race Office between 6:00 AM and 7:30 AM exclusively. Registering for the race or paying the entry fee is not possible on the day of the race.
7. The entry fee shall be paid:
a. to the bank account, no later than on 24 April 2013.
b. in the Race Office on 26-27 April 2013.
Individuals who wish to receive a VAT invoice should provide the Organizer with their personal data along with a proof of payment within 4 days of the date of payment and to the e-mail address: jsobczak@zis.krakow.pl.

Transfer description: "Opłata startowa Cracovia Maraton za "....", putting the name of the Participant between the inverted commas.
9. The entry fee:
a. Once paid, it will not be, under any circumstances, refunded.
b. Payments made incorrectly - i.e. without providing the required data of the Participant or not paid in full - are considered invalid and non-refundable.
c. The entry fee cannot be transferred to a different Participant and is non-refundable.
d. The entry fee cannot be transferred to a different event or next edition of the race.
e. Payments made by transfer after 04.24.2013 will be considered invalid. Additional payments must be made in the Race Office.

10. Individuals exempt from the entry fee:
- persons who completed eleven Cracovia Maraton races
- the disabled
- persons invited to the race by the Marathon Director
- sighted guides accompanying the disabled
- Pacemakers
11. Upon paying the entry fee all Participants receive a starting kit, including:
- a start number + safety pins
- a T-shirt
- a deposit bag + a bag sticker
- information materials
Additionally:
- free participation in the Pasta Party
- free accommodation
- shower and massage after the race
- energy meal after the race

V. CLASSIFICATION

1. The following classification shall be kept during the XII Cracovia Marathon:
a. General: females and males
b. Age classification of females and males:
F 18-29 M 18-29
F 30-39 M 30-39
F 40-49 M 40-49
F 50-59 M 50-59
F 60-69 M-60-69
F 70 and more M 70 and more
c. Open classification: the disabled (categories for females and males) in the following types of wheelchairs:
• HAND BIKE
• RIM PUSH
• ACTIVE WHEELCHAIR

d. Open classification: the visually impaired (categories for females and males):
• B1 category - 100% blind persons with a sighted guide
• B2 category - the visually impaired and partially sighted competing individually or with a sighted guide.

The Participants must present a valid document that confirms their disability e.g. a card issued by the Polish Association of the Blind or District Family Support Centre, a vision disability certificate of a I or II degree.
Due to the fact that the above mentioned documents do not confirm a 100% vision loss, and in order to enter the competition in the B1 category, the Participants competing in the said category are required to submit a separate declaration confirming a full vision loss.
During the registration process the disabled Participants must submit a declaration stating that they are fully aware of the risks and dangers arising from the participation in the XII Cracovia Marathon and that their health condition allows them to take part in the race. In case of any uncertainty as to the health condition of the Participant he shall seek the opinion of a physician at his own expense.
e. The Polish National Marathon Championship of the Academic Sports Association (Polish: AZS) will take place during the XII Cracovia Marathon. The Terms & Conditions are available HERE .

VI. PRIZES

1. All Participants who complete the race will receive a commemorative medal.
2. The prizes funded by the sponsors in the general categories for females and males are listed in Appendix 1.
3. The following money prizes will be awarded to males and females in their age categories:

I place - PLN 600
II place - PLN 500
III place - PLN 400
IV place - PLN 300
V place - PLN 200
VI place - PLN 100

4. The Participants awarded prizes in the general category may also receive prizes in their respective age categories.
5. Additionally:
The trophies funded by the Mayor of Krakow will be awarded to:
- the first three finishers starting in the general categories for females and males
- the first three finishers starting in each category for the disabled
b) Statuettes funded by the Municipality of Krakow will be awarded to:
- marathon winners in each age category.
6. The value of the awards in the categories for the disabled funded by the sponsors of the female and male categories. The Organizer reserves the right to award prizes in this category not only to the first three finishers.

7. Only the Participants who finish the race and have a negative doping test result are eligible for an award. The prizes are subject to an income tax in accordance with the law in force.

8. The money prizes in the general category shall be transferred to the bank account number given by the Participant upon performing a doping test.

9. Material prizes that were not collected during the award ceremony might be retrieved at a later time (within one month after following the race and by contacting the Organizer beforehand) at the Organizer's seat.

 

VII. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

1. The accommodation in the sports arena is included in the entry fee and provided by the Organizer. The Participants should have their own foam pads and sleeping bags. The place of accommodation is equipped with showers.
2. The Participants can check in between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM, 27 April 2013. The Participants of the XII Cracovia Marathon who want to check in for the night following the race will be provided with accommodation if there are any vacancies.
3. On 27 April 2013 and between 2 PM and 8 PM at the Marathon Area in the parking space of the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium, facing Aleja 3 Maja, a "Pasta Party" shall take place. All verified Participants can take part in the event free of charge.
4. As in previous years, the Organizer is trying to obtain discounts from MPK. Updates on the subject shall be posted on the official Marathon website.

VIII. FINANCING

1. The costs of the XII Cracovia Marathon are covered by: The Municipality of Krakow, Sponsors and Partners
2. The entry fees and transportation costs shall be covered by the Participants individually or as a group.

IX. FINAL PROVISIONS

1. The Participants of the XII Cracovia Marathon are required to follow the regulations of PAA, IAAF and the present Terms & Conditions.
2. During the race the Participants are required to have the start numbers provided by the Organizer; the start numbers must be pinned in the front of a starting T-shirt. Covering the start number partially or in full is unacceptable and shall result in a disqualification.

3. During the XII Cracovia Marathon a doping control will be performed.
4. The Organizer does not provide any wheelchairs or other equipment necessary for the disabled and their technical service.
5. Any written complaints following the payment of a deposit amounting to PLN 100 must be submitted to the Race Office before 4:00 PM on the day of the Marathon. The deposit will be reimbursed after accepting the complaint.
6. The XII Cracovia Marathon Director reserves the right to change the Terms & Conditions. The Participants shall be notified of any change hereto before the race.
7. All persons collecting the starting kit automatically agree to the present Terms & Conditions.
